At Mykonos Dream Tours, we understand that plans can change. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which we provide refunds for our tours and services. By making a booking with us, you agree to the terms of this policy.

We strive to be fair and transparent in our refund practices while balancing the need to plan and allocate resources for our tours. Please read this policy carefully before making a booking.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Policy

Our standard refund policy for tour cancellations is as follows:

All cancellations must be made in writing via email to bookings@mykonosdreamtours.com. The date we receive your cancellation email will be used to determine the applicable refund amount.

Deposit Policy

For tours that require a deposit at the time of booking:

  • If you cancel 30+ days before the tour date, your deposit will be refunded minus a €50 administration fee.
  • If you cancel less than 30 days before the tour date, your deposit is non-refundable.
  • If you have paid in full and cancel your tour, the refund will be calculated according to our standard cancellation policy above.

Special Tours and Custom Packages

For private tours, multi-day packages, or custom itineraries, the following modified refund policy applies:

  • 60+ days before tour date: 90% refund
  • 30-59 days before tour date: 70% refund
  • 15-29 days before tour date: 50% refund
  • Less than 15 days before tour date: No refund

This stricter policy reflects the additional planning, resource allocation, and potential loss of other bookings that these specialized tours require.

Group Bookings

For group bookings of 8 or more participants:

  • 90+ days before tour date: 90% refund
  • 60-89 days before tour date: 75% refund
  • 30-59 days before tour date: 50% refund
  • Less than 30 days before tour date: No refund

Group bookings require advance planning and resource allocation, which is reflected in this policy.

Weather and Force Majeure

Weather Conditions

Tours in Mykonos can be affected by weather conditions, particularly water-based activities and boat excursions. Our policy regarding weather-related cancellations is as follows:

  • If we cancel a tour due to unsafe weather conditions, you will be offered:
    • A full refund, or
    • The option to reschedule for another date, or
    • A credit for another tour of equal value
  • If a tour proceeds but with modifications due to weather conditions, no refund will be provided as long as the primary activities of the tour can still be delivered.
  • If you choose to cancel a tour due to weather forecasts but we have not canceled the tour because conditions are still considered safe, our standard cancellation policy applies.

Force Majeure Events

In the event of force majeure circumstances beyond our control (such as natural disasters, pandemic restrictions, political unrest, or other extraordinary events), the following policy applies:

  • If we must cancel a tour due to force majeure events, you will be offered:
    • A credit valid for 24 months for a future booking, or
    • A full refund minus a 10% administration fee
  • If you cancel a tour due to force majeure events that significantly impact your ability to travel (such as flight cancellations, travel bans, or quarantine requirements), we will review each case individually and aim to provide the most flexible solution possible.

Early Termination of Tours

If you choose to leave a tour early or do not participate in certain activities included in the tour:

  • No refund will be provided for unused portions of the tour or skipped activities.
  • If we must remove you from a tour due to disruptive behavior, illegal activities, or any conduct that threatens the safety or enjoyment of others, no refund will be provided.

Refund Processing and Timeframes

When a refund is approved, it will be processed as follows:

  • Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original booking.
  • Credit card refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your card issuer.
  • Bank transfer refunds may take 7-14 business days to process.
  • All refunds will be processed in the currency of the original payment.

We strive to process all refunds promptly, typically within 5 business days of approval.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to bookings@mykonosdreamtours.com with the subject line "Refund Request - [Your Booking Reference]"
  2. Include the following information in your email:
    • Your full name
    • Booking reference number
    • Tour date and name
    • Reason for cancellation
    • Your contact information
  3. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and provide information about the applicable refund amount based on this policy.
  4. Once you confirm that you wish to proceed with the cancellation and refund, we will process your request.

For urgent refund requests, you may also contact us by phone at +448272830275 during our business hours, but a written request is still required to process the refund.

Travel Insurance Recommendation

We strongly recommend that all customers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation coverage. Travel insurance can provide protection in cases where our refund policy does not cover your cancellation, such as:

  • Last-minute cancellations due to illness or injury
  • Travel delays causing you to miss your tour
  • Personal emergencies that prevent you from traveling

While travel insurance is not mandatory, it can offer peace of mind and financial protection for unexpected circumstances.

Special Circumstances and Discretionary Refunds

We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise that are not covered by our standard policy. In cases of serious illness, bereavement, or other significant emergencies, we may, at our discretion, offer more flexible refund terms.

Such requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may require documentation to support the request. Please contact us as soon as possible if such circumstances arise.

Promotional Offers and Non-Refundable Bookings

Certain promotional offers, discounted tours, or special deals may be marked as "non-refundable" or have modified refund terms. These special conditions will be clearly communicated at the time of booking and will supersede our standard refund policy.

If you book a tour marked as "non-refundable," please understand that no refund will be provided regardless of the cancellation timeframe, except in cases where we cancel the tour.

Amendments to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply to bookings made after the updated policy is published.

The Refund Policy that was in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your cancellation, even if the policy has subsequently changed.
